Methodology

The methodology to address these key issues is to bring together the PRIVILEGED consortium to answer a series of questions systematically addressing the detailed foundation issues and set by the Co-ordinating Partner and the Steering Group relating to the strategic objectives.

These will be undertaken by:

  1. Drawing upon the participants’ own expertise and research. The participant will write reports on the questions and the broad issues surrounding the key objectives. In preparing these reports the participants will draw upon their own contacts within their own institutes, on national contacts, on national bodies interested in the area of study, with the help of their Regional Research Coordinator
  2. Discussing the issues and their findings on a regional level with other members of the PRIVILEGED consortium
  3. Discussing these issues with the whole consortium through three workshops, each related to the specific questions and themes identified and prescribed by the Co-ordinating Partner and Steering Group.

To facilitate these discussions and the broader communication and consultation about ideas and understandings of conceptualisations:

  1. PRIVILEGED has developed a website with private and public pages, discussion forums and archives.
  2. PRIVILEGED has arranged the participants in regions to assess whether these cultural and social groups have a bearing on these issues
  3. PRIVILEGED findings will be disseminated through published reports and papers in books; through reports to the EC, also in the final report including recommendations; and through the use of web-based publications and discussions.
